Well another Successful Mt Jam Motorcycle Show is behind us. For those who didn’t make it this year, we had a great turn out and Mother Nature showed us her nicer side, the weather was great for riding and the parking lot showed it. We opened the doors at 9 am and had a steady flow of people all day till Trophies at 5 pm. At the end of the day we had over 750 people visit us. Not sure how that measures up to last year but it was a bunch. We had face painting and tattoos with a bouncy gym for the kids and had everything from tattoos to windows for the adults. We offered some new things this year, free bike parking, a cash prize for best of show, (Congrats to Brandon Svoboda of C & W Cycles) and Trophies for the First Place winners (you can see the list on the website). We had Rick “the Horror” Story, a UFC fighter and one of the Beautiful ring girls and one of the Calendar girls and bikes from 2009 Hot Bods & Bikes. At 10 we had a moment of silence for our soldiers and then during the singing of the National Anthem we unveiled a POW/MIA Tribute Bike built locally by Johnnies Ol skool Motorcycle repair and owned by our own John Capobianco. We had 3 live bands playing from noon until closing, our own Steve Hertel Band, Dirty Little Fingers and Six Days. Around 2 pm we even had an indoor Poker Run, the first ever. As always entry was $5.00 for adults and kids under 14 got in for 2 cans of food. For any venders or contestants who want to pre-register for next year, drop us a line and let us know, we have some sweet deals for pre-registration. I want to thank everyone who participated and supported us this year. Dutch did an awesome job with pics for Quick Throttle and Ken from BIG did the same, we even got a write up by The Northwest Rider. A first this year was working with the EWC and their Kick Ass fighters, we hope to do that again next year. We have learned a lot about accountability and keeping lots of notes and a time line to make the job easier for those who follow, we didn’t have that from the last two years so we basically ran from scratch. All in all it was a lot of hard work but well worth the effort. Thanks to the ABATE members from other chapters that stopped by and said hi. See you next year. Mark your calendars April 17, 2010 is the next Mt Jam Motorcycle Show. Top Coordinator SW Chapter Chap Rep Area 2 Mt
